Nissan “Shoulders of Giants”

It’s unheard of for an auto company to pay homage to it’s competitors in an ad, but that’s what Nissan boldly does here in this :90 brand launch which broke during the College Football Playoff National Championship game on ESPN. The spot, called “Shoulders of Giants,” begins with an emotional tone, showing children idolizing parents, firefighters, astronauts and athletes. Then, the kicker: “To those who go before us — Chevy, Ford, Dodge. Thank you. We see the way forward.” Agency TBWAChiatDay, Director Mark Molloy, and a52 VFX Supervisor Urs Furrer teamed up on the first spot to launch Nissan’s new Titan truck line.
